Vintage 2023 Update

On day one of picking it was Pinot Noir. We pick this as our first variety to capture the lovely fresh bright red berry characters. It also means our Pinot Noir is low in alcohol.

In the first 10 days of harvest, we picked all our Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. It's the most hectic time of year for the vineyard crew supported by our lovely French backpackers, grey nomads and keen locals.

The cold and rainy Spring weather has resulted in a later harvest compared to most years. Since Christmas we've had near perfect weather for ripening grapes, so we're expecting good red wines as well.

In a cool year like this, the Chardonnays will be very elegant and the Pinot Noir flavours will be very vibrant. Great wines to look forward to in 18 months time.

By the end of March, we were more than halfway through harvest. We're well into the reds now with Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon the next to be picked.  At the moment, we know the Chardonnay tastes terrific. We'll let you know about the rest as soon as we know.
