2015 Secret Village Shiraz

2015 Secret Village Shiraz

The wine has a typical Beechworth medium bodied style. The colour is a lovely dark crimson. On the nose there is dark brooding fruit and a powerful middle palate.

Halliday Wine Companion: 93 A bright vermilion, this is purple and blue fruits a go go, all careening across a wave of whole cluster clove, massaged vanillin oak tannins and sub-alpine acidity. The whole is one of intense flavours and firm, tannic structure. Black olive, smoked meat, cardamon and anise tease one back for another glass, lingering on the long finish. Drink 2024 Q Wine Reviews: The wines I've seen of late from Beechworth's Indigo Vineyard have been impressive with quality across the board. Medium bodied Shiraz getting the thumbs up this time. Scents of black tea, black earth and dark plums get the juices flowing. Steady and consistent through the mouth, a touch of char walks beside savoury herbs. Peppery spice chugs along with a brightish acid cracking the whip. Another couple of years and this will settle but it's a good drink nonetheless. Drink to 2025. 91/100
