Deliciously silky, over a few days this developed wonderfully. An inviting opening sees berry pie, cured meats, plummy fruit and dark cherries fold into one another with ease. A dusting of cocoa and earthiness tucks in behind with some leather starting to show. The longer it sits the more chocolate torte builds momentum. Laced with Moroccan and exotic spices, brick dust and powdery tannins are long and drying. Give it a decant and be patient. It's brilliant drinking once you let it do its thing. Another forceful Indigo Vineyard demonstration of what Beechworth shiraz is capable of. The ripeness level is turned up and, accordingly, so too is the toasty, vanillin oak. Against this background is placed black-hearted fruit, high spice, aniseed, fennel, earth and meaty, savoury notes. Retains that attractive wildness now entrenched in the style.
