Beechworth F Block Pinot Noir 2024

Each vintage presents its challenges and opportunities. 2024 was no different.

We suffered a massive frost in late October 2023 which reduced our harvest by more than 40%. The impact of a frost can be "interesting". In our F Block Pinot Noir, the buds were emerging as the frost hit. Some of the early buds were burnt while others developed later. The result was that we picked the block twice. Once in early February and again in mid March.

The grapes picked in February will go to make our Blue Label Beechworth Pinot Noir.

The grapes picked in March, while showing lovely varietal character, were simply different. Juicy strawberry is the real feature rather than the dark fruit characters usually found in our Pinot Noir.  So, we made a new wine. At a lower price ready for early drinking pleasure.
