Secret Village Shiraz 2021

An excellent cool climate Shiraz from Beechworth, this Indigo Secret Village Shiraz is just ace. Lacy, measured depth, broad through the palate with a thick layer of flavour that seems painted on - come at me. Despite the generous flavour profile, it holds itself with poise and is not weighty. Dark cherries, plums and mulberries glide through on a silk sheet. Drying out ever so slightly, juicy, buxom tannins captivate and build a moreish appeal. A terrific wine to embrace beside a fire pit, a Sunday roast, or binge-watching a series with your love. Give me it all.

Brings a peppery spiced, cool-climate vibe to shiraz in what was an exceptional vintage. Almost effortlessly well balanced and integrated, the '21 celebrates ripe red berries and black cherry, leaf, anise and that delightful, most inviting peppery spiciness. It's one elegant, medium-bodied example of what Beechworth does well, with layers of flavour, texture and vibrancy tied to a distinctive intense background of acacia, red earth and Aussie bush notes. Easy to enjoy now and, with that kind of balance, it will age super well.
